You can oftentimes find a round trip flight to Dallas (DFW airport) for less than 150 dollars. Why not take the time for a DFW girl's weekend? Girls’ trips are definitely good for the soul. Drinking, laughing, and adventure. What else do you need? After living in Dallas for 5 years and entertaining guests, I have put together the ultimate Girl's weekend in DFW. With rodeo's, drinks, concerts, art, parks, and adventure...there is something to make EVERYONE happy! In this three-day itinerary, you will explore the whole DFW metroplex while visiting Fort Worth, Dallas, and Arlington. This site contains affiliate links to products. This is the midpoint for your weekend adventures. Arlington is about 15 minutes away from the airport. Tip:: HotelsCombined will search ALL hotel sites with a best price guarantee! Or check out the Airbnb map below for a unique find! What to Drive? Uber and Lyft are of course great options, or you can always rent a car from the airport. I would suggest a ride share option so you do not have to worry about a designated driver. Weather? As you are probably well aware, summers in Dallas are brutal. If you visit in July, August, or Septemeber, be prepared for temperatures of 100+. If you want to avoid the extreme heat, but still have nice weather, I would suggest coming in May or October. Temperatures in the winter months typically range from 40's-60's. Dallas Girl's Weekend Itinerary Overview: Friday Morning: Fly to DFW AirportFriday Afternoon: Check into Arlington, TX hotel or AirbnbFriday Night: Fort Worth Stockyards/Rodeo Saturday Morning: Painting and BrunchSaturday Afternoon: Klyde Warren Park and Dallas Art MuseumSaturday Night: Piano Bar Sunday Morning: Six Flags OR Winery and ShoppingSunday Night: Fly home Day 1 (Friday): Fort Worth, TX Catch a morning flight to Dallas and check into your accommodation. After getting settled in, start your DFW girl's weekend by heading to the Stockyards in Fort Worth. Here you can shop, bar hop, and eat before the rodeo starts. It has the “real” Texas feel… you know cowboy hats, flannel, and longhorns walking the street. Make sure to grab some Texas BBQ for dinner. After you have finished exploring the Stockyards, it's time for the rodeo. The rodeo is held every Friday and Saturday at 8 pm. If you are still ready to party, you can walk down the street to Billy Bob's Texas. Here you can ride a bull (if you did not on the Stockyard streets), dance on the dance floor, visit one of the many bars, and of course, listen to their live music. Sometimes you can even get in free with your rodeo ticket. We have seen Cole Swindell and Kip Moore for free after the rodeo. Definitely worth checking out! Day 2 (Saturday): Dallas, TX Head to Dallas in the morning and get ready for your art day. Start your morning at Texas Wine and Wood where you will be served Bottomless Mimosas and a delicious brunch. After eating, you will paint your own wooden sign. You can reserve your spot the day before (on their website) and pick your design. Tip:: If flying, make sure to pick a small piece you can fit in your suitcase/carry-on. After your DIY class, head over to Kylde Warren Park. This is a 5-acre park right in the middle of Dallas. You can borrow games to play in the middle of the city park. If you are hungry...grab a snack off the surrounding food trucks. Make sure to walk across the street to the Dallas Art Museum. It's free admission, and has many rooms to explore! If visiting in the shoulder months, Six Flag's is the next best option. Tip::Arrive at opening time to avoid the crazy long lines! Not into rollercoasters? Take your Uber to Grapevine and tour a Winery. After the tour, walk around the historic downtown and visit the shops. Make sure to schedule a late flight so that you have the whole day to spend at Six Flags or Grapevine! What to Eat? Okay, even though I have lived here for 5 years, I typically eat at the same restaurants. Sooo, I am not the person to ask about all the new fancy restaurants. I'm usually okay with a meal from a food truck or a burger or a pizza.
