Idaho Springs Dining: Where to Eat in Idaho Springs, CO


Idaho Springs, Colorado, is a charming mountain town known for its rich mining history, scenic beauty, and outdoor activities. But it’s not just the stunning landscapes that draw visitors; Idaho Springs also boasts a delightful culinary scene that caters to both locals and tourists alike. From hearty comfort food to international cuisine, there’s something for everyone in this mountain town.

During a recent weekend getaway, I was able to test out some of the best restaurants in Idaho Springs. Here’s a list of Idaho Springs dining options to help you in your planning! Bon Appetit!

1. Beau Jo’s Pizza

Known for their legendary Colorado-style pizza, Beau Jo’s is a local favorite. Their hearty mountain pies are famous for their thick, honey-drenched crusts and generous toppings. There’s even extra honey on the table to dip your crust into!

It’s truly one of the best Idaho Springs dining options out there (maybe even all of Colorado!)

2. Tommyknocker Brewery & Pub

Craft beer enthusiasts will love Tommyknocker Brewery, where you can savor handcrafted beers alongside a diverse pub menu. Enjoy a cold brew with their delicious pretzels or a classic Colorado Down South burger. It’s a perfect stop after conquering Grays Peak (a Colorado 14er!)

3. Smokin Yard’s BBQ

For mouthwatering barbecue in a rustic setting, head to Smokin Yard’s BBQ. Their smoked meats, like brisket and pulled pork, are tender and flavorful. The homemade sides, especially the mac and cheese, are not to be missed.

4. Main Street Restaurant

If you’re looking for a classic American diner experience, Main Street Restaurant is the place to go. Their breakfasts are legendary, and you’ll find all your favorite comfort food dishes, including chicken-fried steak and biscuits and gravy.

5. Westbound & Down Brewing Company

Westbound & Down combines craft beer and creative cuisine. Try their seasonal beer offerings alongside dishes like the popular Philly Cheesesteak or the tasty buffalo chicken nachos. The menu is sure to please foodies and beer connoisseurs alike.

6. The Frothy Cup

Craving a sweet treat, quick breakfast, or a caffeine fix? Look no further than The Frothy Cup. Pair your beverage with one of their small breakfasts for a great pre-adventure start to your day!

We loved it here so much, we returned twice!

7. MTN Prime

Craving a steak cooked to perfection? MTN Prime is the answer. This upscale steakhouse offers premium cuts of beef, an extensive wine list, and a sleek atmosphere. It’s perfect for a special occasion or to simply celebrate a great weekend in Idaho Springs!

It’s also open later than other restaurants on Miner Street so it’s perfect for if your adventures run late.

8. Azteca Mexican Restaurant

9. The Vintage Moose

After a day full of adventures, unwind at The Vintage Moose, a cozy local spot known for its craft beers and laid-back ambiance. You’ll surely strike up a conversation with a local or two! With ample drink choices and a few bar-foods to choose from, it’s a great late-night stop (we came here after a relaxing soak at Indian Hot Springs!)

10. Two Brothers Deli

Two Brothers Deli is the perfect place to grab a quick and delicious sandwich before hitting the trails or exploring the town. They offer a variety of deli classics and unique creations, like the “Colorado Cubano.”

11. Clear Creek Cidery
