Get to know the face behind The Homebody Tourist!
I’m a full-time elementary teacher with a side of freelance writing/travel blogging.
As much as I LOVE to travel, I also enjoy routine, being home, and sleeping in my own cozy bed. Anyone else?
You won’t find me living in a van or backpacking for months on end. BUT, I do like to spruce up the monotony of daily life by exploring the USA through long weekend trips!
I describe myself as a slightly bougie traveler who still has to make it work on a teacher’s salary. I will 1000 percent choose the fun glamping stay and splurge on unique experiences, and then bust my a** at home on different side hustles.
I especially love road trips, waterfalls, sunsets, weekend trips, day-hiking, delicious meals, and exploring underrated states.

Other than exploring the USA, I LOVED NEW ZEALAND. I can NOT wait to return.

3. Roy’s Peak
In the midst of the pandemic, I found myself with extra time on my hands. Schools were closed, so I dove headfirst into YouTube University. I tried to learn everything I could about starting a profitable travel blog. A girl can dream, right?
At the time, I was roadtripping the states with my bestie dog (Thor) and finding all the dog-friendly things to do. Since then, we did have to say goodbye to Thor (still heartbroken) and have started to travel internationally a bit more (still with limited time and PTO).
Today, my hope is to inspire other 9-5ers to travel more and see more of this amazing world we call home (without having to quit your job).
I spend HOURS planning detailed itineraries in order to see the most with limited time.
You’ll find a complete library of USA weekend trips (3-day itineraries) and super detailed international guides (5-10 days).
Each itinerary is jam-packed with city life, day hikes, and unique finds along the way. They are perfect for the mid-budget traveler who wants a bit of everything!
