There are two main Breckenridge, CO ice rinks to choose from: Stephen C. West Ice Arena and The Grand Colorado on Peak 8. There’s plenty of more details below, but I wanted to give you the quick answer in case you are short on time (or already on your way to the Breck ice rinks).
In the past, there used to be a third option with Maggie Pond, which was hands-down the most picturesque, but we regret to inform you that it’s been out of commission for several years (not trying to be the bearer of bad news, just wanting to save you the time of searching for this one).
However, fret not, for there are still two fantastic ice skating options waiting for you in Breckenridge. Whether you’re taking your first wobbly steps on the ice, gliding like a seasoned figure skater, or showing off your hockey moves, we’ve got the lowdown on the perfect rink to match your skill level. If you are searching for the traditional ice skating adventure, the Town of Breckenridge owns and operates the Steven C West Ice Arena. This arena offers 2 full size NHL ice rinks, one of the rinks is indoors and the second is an outdoor covered rink.
The Stephen C West Ice Arena has concessions operating during skating sessions, so if you need a snack or something to drink there will be options available.
There is plenty of bleacher seating so if you don’t want to skate but watch you will be able to do so comfortably. In addition, there is a full service pro shop that includes skate sharpening, hockey sticks, hockey gear including pads and helmets.

With this ice rink being perfectly located on Peak 8 there are plenty of dining options nearby, grab a warm cup of hot cocoa at the Uler Cafe (don’t tell the kids…BUT there are spirits available if the parents need a break).
Pro tip! Order the Viking Hot Chocolate; a touch of peppermint and cinnamon liquor, topped whipped cream. You’ll thank me later 😉
