Hi! I’m Jordan!

THANK YOU for stopping by πŸ™‚

About Me:

As much as I LOVE to travel, I also love being an elementary school teacher.

I enjoy routine, being home, and of course the occasional adventure. I use my vacation time carefully and work hard at planning affordable vacations.

I especially love road trips (as the passenger), waterfalls, sunsets, hiking, and exploring underrated states.

Due to working full-time (and being a major homebody), the trips I take are typically short-term (long weekends-1 week) and packed full with unique experiences!

10 Quick Facts About Me:

1. I live in Dallas, TX
2. I grew up in a small(er) town in Wisconsin
3. My dog is my favorite (His name is Thor and he is a 7-year old German Shepherd)
4. I met my husband 10 years ago and we have been married for 3
5. I love board games.
6. Hiking is my favorite hobby, but I still STRUGGLE while doing so.
7. I am a terrible cook and cleaner
8. I take way too many pictures everywhere I go
9. I am scared of EVERYTHING, but dead mice top the list (lol)
10. I am an extroverted introvert (does that make sense?) I enjoy being alone, but also love to meet new people.

Why Did I Start a Blog?

I have read many, many travel blogs of individuals and couples who are living extravagant lives. They are in a different country each week and seem to have an unlimited flow of money.

Weeelllllll, this is not the case.  As much as I love being a tourist, I also love my β€œreal” life.

During the week (and usually part of the weekend), I am a teaching 2nd graders, sleeping in, playing with my dog, and watching mindless TV.

However, I do my best to use my vacation time to the fullest by exploring the amazing world we live on.

I am using this blog as an outlet to reminisce on my trips, but I also hope it can be useful to others wanting to explore the world WITHOUT abandoning their everyday life.

You will find short-term itineraries, weekend getaways, budget-friendly tips, and other resources to support the average “part-time tourist”.
