If you know me in real life or have been following along on Insta, you know that I looooove sleeping in my own bed. When I’m traveling, I like to consider myself a professional glamper (comfy beds, pillows, and showers, but still the ability to get outside). Recently I went out of my comfort zone and went on my very first backpacking trip! Ahhhh.
While planning my packing list, I knew I needed the comfiest travel pillow I could find. If I was going to sleep in a tent for 5 nights, I at least had to bring along the best camping pillow with me. Enter…Hest Travel Pillow. Keep reading for my honest review of the Hest Travel Pillow. It’s (in my humble & slightly bougie opinion) the best camping pillow you can buy!

Pros of the Hest Travel Pillow:
1. Comfort
First and foremost, the Hest Travel PIllow is extremely comfortable! It fit perfectly in my sleeping bag and was truly comparable to my pillow at home. It is made with a blend of shredded enhanced memory foam and polyester and beats sleeping on an inflatable camping pillow by a landslide.
2. The Design
The Hest Travel Pillow is designed to fold into itself. This allows for the pillow to be smaller (about half the size) and also protected from dirt, water, and whatever else you may encounter while camping. While folded, there is also a handy dandy carrying loop for easy transport. When you are ready to sleep, all you need to do is unzip, and unfold!
3. Its Versatility
Most people use the Hest Travel Pillow for car camping, but I was determined to bring this comfy camping pillow with me on my backpacking trip. All Hest pillows have the ability to take out some of the stuffing depending on your needs!
In order to fit the Hest Travel pillow comfortably in my backpack, I simply took out some of the stuffing to ensure it could squish down enough. I was so impressed by how much stuffing I was able to remove while still being left with a comfy pillow! (See the above picture!)
I’m also SUPER excited to try it on a normal camping trip with all the memory foam inside!
Drawbacks of the Hest Travel Pillow:
If you know me at all, you know I am always honest. I wouldn’t recommend a product here unless I truly loved it. I can 100 percent recommend the Hest Travel Pillow as one of the best camping pillows on the market. But as with anything, there are also some drawbacks (I had to think real hard about these ones though).
1. Price
You know what they say…you get what you pay for. And this is definitely true with the Hest Travel Pillow. It is a bit more expensive than your average camping pillow, buuuuut it’s worth the investment. And trust me, it’s so much better than your average inflatable pillow (I know, I know… I already said that…but it’s so true).
The travel pillow starts $74 and goes up depending on the size chosen.
2. Size & Weight (for backpacking)
As I stated previously, I brought my Hest Travel Pillow and a 5-day backpacking trip. I was a bit nervous at first due to it being a larger size and heavier weight than other backpacking pillows, but it ended up working perfectly (I was able to squeeze it down behind my bear can!). But for those with limited space or if you are worried about your pack weight, the Hest Pillow may be a bit too big for backpacking.

Final Hest Travel Pillow Review
Would I recommend the Hest Travel Pillow to my closest friends?! YES, 100 percent! I woke up each day with zero neck pain and as well rested as I can in a tent… 🙂 It’s worth the investment and definitely the best (and most comfortable) camping pillow out there!
