When I first started hiking regularly, I quickly realized that not all leggings are created equal. Some slide down (the worst), some rip too easily, and others just don’t hold up to the sweat, rocks, and weather that come with being on the trail. After hearing about the Pinnacle Hiking Nomad Leggings on Insta, I decided to put them to the test, and now, a few months (and many hikes) later, I feel ready to give a full review!

When they arrived, I could already tell these weren’t your average leggings. The material felt thicker than the typical workout leggings, but still stretchy and comfortable. I ordered a large and a medium to test out the fit of each, as I typically go back and forth between the two depending on the brand. Although I can wear both, I will say that the large fits me the best (I’m 5ft 8 inches and ~ 150 pounds).
I’ve worn these leggings on a variety of hikes from flat, easy trails to rocky scrambles and muddy treks, and they’ve consistently impressed me. They are snug, but not restrictive. I love the flattering high waistband with a tie that doesn’t roll down every time I bend over to tie my boots and the pockets are so useful!
Here’s what else stood out!

These leggings are TOUGH. I’ve sat on rough rocks (big fan of breaks), slid down dusty hillsides (I’m known to be a professional butt-scooter on any remotely steep trail), and even accidentally brushed up against some thorny brush, and they’ve held up with no snags or tears. I’ve washed them a dozen times already, and there’s no fading or pilling either.
Even on warmer days, the Pinnacle leggings didn’t feel suffocating. The thick fabric wicks away sweat surprisingly well, and I stayed dry and comfortable on longer hikes. I wouldn’t say they’re the lightest leggings I own, but they definitely balance breathability with durability better than most.

Can we talk about the pockets? They are THE BEST. Two deep side pockets with zippers that fit my phone, keys, and a granola bar, and they actually stay in place while I hike. I even tucked a trail map in there once, and it didn’t budge.
Pinnacle Outfitters also has shorts, beanies, and tops! I haven’t tried them yet, but the tops are SO CUTE! They are for sure going to be my next purchase!

While I’ve become a huge fan, there are a couple of things that might be worth considering depending on what you’re looking for:

The Pinnacle Hiking Leggings have officially earned a permanent spot in my hiking wardrobe (as you can tell by all.the.pictures). They strike the perfect balance between function and comfort, and I find myself reaching for them even on non-hiking days. I’m not a big shopper, so once I find something I like they get worn A LOT!
If you’ve been on the fence, I’d say go for it. They’re one of the few pieces of gear I’ve bought lately that actually live up to the claims!
