So without further ado, here are the best Breckenridge hotels downtown…

Grand Timber Lodge wins our pick for the best bang for your hard earned money. With ample underground parking in each building it makes it exceptionally easy to unload all your gear for a week’s stay and keeps your car warm and snow free in the winter.
There is a wide variety of amenity offerings from the refresh massage studio, complimentary ski lockers, private movie theater. The rooms are clean and well maintained, providing full kitchens in the larger rooms and kitchenettes in the smaller rooms.
It’s also close to the Breckenridge ski resort which allows a short walk to either the Snowflake lift or the Beaver Run Base Area. You can also take a shuttle to the mountain if you don’t feel like walking.
However, at the end of your ski day the resort does have a ski in option via a small maintained trail just off the lower sawmill trail.

Cons
**Local’s Tip** If you are interested in uphill access after dark with skis or splitboard, Peak 8 features a free uphill access route after the resort closes and just before the resort opens in the morning.

The Ranahan is a little bit outside of the heart of downtown Breckenridge, but provides a wonderful environment with excellent amenities.
The Ranahan provides a nice option for loyal Hyatt members. The hotel is very well managed and is updated with modern rustic decor, embracing that mountain lodge feeling perfectly.

Cons
**Local’s Tip** Shhhh, don’t tell anyone but the river and pond section behind the Ranahan is a phenomenal fly fishing spot for the angler in the family.

Grand Colorado on Peak 8 is one of Breckenridge’s premier lodging options that is located on a mountain. It’s a truly amazing ski in and ski out property in Breckenridge. The mountain facing rooms are amazing, and even if you get a town-side view, the views are still breathtaking.

**Local’s Tip** If you are interested in uphill access after dark with skis or splitboard, Peak 8 features a free uphill access route after the resort closes and just before the resort opens in the morning.

The Residence Inn by Marriott Breckenridge is exactly what you would expect for a Marriott property. If you are a loyal Marriott traveler, this Hotel will meet your standard Marriott quality.
It’s nothing too special, but it is very clean and located at the top end of town, allowing very easy walking access to Downtown Breckenridge.
The big bonus for this property is if you are a Marriott member, this property allows use of points for rooms. To be honest, I would only stay at this hotel if I were trying to build more Marriott points or using points. Otherwise, I would have to recommend either Grand Colorado on Peak 8 or Grand Timber Lodge to get a better Breckenridge experience.
